The four primary components of KuJIMA are:
The freedom of choice to engage in physical activity. To live one’s life according to reasons and motives that are taken as one’s own and not the product of manipulative or distorting external forces.
Extent to which significant referents (family, friends, peers) approve, encourage, and/or influence performance of physical activity.
A connection to a higher purpose that influences actions, beliefs and values regarding physical activity’s effect on both the mind and spirit.
The physical surroundings (home, work, school, synagogue, church, etc.) that support, inhibit and/or influence physical activity.
